Radio Commercial

For my first assignment of the week, I made a radio commercial to include in our radio show. In the track, I advertise a booklet of all the Freshman tips we are presenting on our radio show. I thought it was fitting and realistic. Even though the radio show isn’t real, I want to make it appear to be. By including a product for our show, I feel like it brings the show to life.

I started out by writing down what I wanted to say. I spent a little while thinking about what I wanted to include and soon I had a decent script. I was in my dorm to record and the air conditioner kept kicking on and the refrigerator was making a loud noise, so I bumped up the air temperature to prevent it from turning on and unplugged the fridge. Now that the room was silent, I began recording in Audacity. I messed up a couple times, but soon got a good recording. Then, I went onto YouTube and found some background music to play in the background. I played it on YouTube while recording in Audacity. I played around with the noise levels of the voice recording and the background music to get a good balance and faded out the background music at the end of the commercial to smoothly transition into the next part of the show.

Here is the link to the background music I used.
